135 children fled away from missionary cathedral again because of torture

[dropcap font=”arial” fontsize=”60″]O[/dropcap]nce again, 135 children fled away from Shantiraj Catholic Church of Thanchi at Bandarban on Monday at midnight because of tortured by the catholic. UP chairperson and police officials visited the church after the incident, source confirmed.

Mentioning that, for offensive behavior 65 girls left Fatema Rani Catholic Church at a time on 16 March this year.

Parent of those children alleged that church provides not only unhygienic food but they tortured children and harassed them in different way. They also complained against the mismanagement of the church. Parent also criticized, church authority force to perform some Christian rituals so that there grows a soft corner in children mind about the Christianity. Furthermore, church authority provoked child labor.

Children of Thanch, Tindu, Remakri,  Boro Modok and surrounding area came here for their study though there is a complaint against the church that authority tortures the children. Children escaped because of torture, Calachin Marma, Union Parisad chairperson said.  Supervisor father Lorence is an Italian citizen.

This church mainly operated on foreign as well as parent donation. However Jum seed is still in field so those parents were unable to provide the donation which resulting torture and food insufficiency.

By mobile conversation with Bandarban Sadar UP Chairperson, this church faced hardship for indiscipline and mismanagement for a long period. For this hardship, insufficient rations and mounting torture made those children fled away. Thanchi police official Omar Ali confirmed the news and said Police investigates the reason of escape.

However, Bandarban UP Chairperson and Thanchi Upazilla Nirbahi Officer (UNO) (Additional) Amir Abdullah Mohammad Manjurul Karim called an emergency meeting after the incident. He confirmed, father Lorence was stayed at Dhaka for last one month. He is now at Thanchi.

Father Lorence said there is a meeting on Wednesday evening with parents, local representative and government officials.
