3 of Forest Department abducted from Rangamati

Two officers and a guard of Forest Department (FD) were abducted at gun point from Langdu, Rangamati on Thursday at noon. Kidnapped are Farid Mia, Assistant Curator of CHT North Forest, Rabiul Hossain, Range Officer and Forest Guard Bibortan Chalma.
Source said when these three went Langdu for mapping Kattali Kharikata’s Jot trees, a group of armed-outlaws seal off them and abducted at gun point. Outlaws want BDT15 Lac (1.5 Million) for their ransom. No news who are involved in this incident.
Divisional Forest Officer, North Forest of CHT Md. Kaysar and Forest Curator of Rangamati Forest Circle Abu Hanif Patoyari confirmed the news though they did not know what happened to these three either.
Additional Police Super (Detective) of Rangamati Abul Kalam Azad said, immediately after knowing the news he talked with Forest Department though they could not give him any information or even the confirmation about the abduction.
