4 UPDF men held, arm recovered in Khagrachari

[dropcap font=”arial” fontsize=”60″]M[/dropcap]embers of Bangladesh Army in a raid on Wednesday’s recovered an automatic rifle and four round bullets at Laxmichhari of khagreachari. They also arrested four tribal militants.

Based on secret information, a battalion led by Lt Col Muhammad Nurul Amin conducted the operation at Bainnachara Samudpara area and nabbed the armed militants. Captain Jawad told parbattanews that six patrol teams participated in the operation.

While they were approaching to a militant den, a militant of the separatist group UPDF opened fire at army personnel. But, the army personnel managed to escape and detained them without any hassle. With the arm and ammunition, the troops also recovered bill forms for extortion, notebook, cash money, two mobile phones and some other documents.

The arrestees were identified as Sukumar Chakma, Nirmal Chakma, Somul Chakma and Sumon Chakma. All the arrestees were dwelling in Samudpara area.
