At last after holding flag meeting at Maungdaw in Myanmar, Border Guard Police BGP handed over BGB Nayek Abdur Razzak to Bangladesh Border Guard BGB today. The six-member delegation BGB team led by Teknaf 42 Battalion Commander Lt. Abu Zar Al Zahid participated the meeting while 10-member BGP team joined the flag meeting at noon and nearly at 2pm the captive BGB Nayek Abdur Razzak was released, a reliable source confirmed this to media. He returned home safely.
Myanmar’s Border Guard Police BGP abducted Razzak eight days ago while he was on patrol duty at frontier in Teknaf area. Myanmar had complaints before; Abdur Razzaq intruded to their territorial waters. Razzak was abducted and handcuffed. Later was posted Facebook page by BGP. Bangladesh condemned the dissemination of such images is violation to international law. Bangladesh quickly demanded the release of the hostages BGB member. But Myanmar was making late and arguing meaningless points.
Later at afternoon in Dhaka BGB headquarters, BGB Director General Major General Aziz Ahmed briefed the newsmen about the arrest and release episode of Abdur Razzak.
