Ruling Awamy League men raped a hill female student in Khagrachari, one nabbed and expelled
Ruling Awamy League men raped consecutively a hill female student at Khagrachari in CHT region. On Monday after ending her forest travel, a religious ritual, while returning to her respective home with a host of relatives, the miscreants of BCL and Matsyagibi league jumped upon the student of class ten. At dead of night just at 1 am, the miscreants, 4 in number, after binding the victim’s relatives with rope in a local club, they took her at a tobacco field and raped consecutively.
Police later nabbed Kabakhali Union BCL president Shariar Sohel Mia on alleged involvement to this rape case. On the contrary, a relative fled to home and told the story to others and the villagers came forward and rescued her. A cousin was seriously beaten by the miscreants, it alleged. Later the victim was admitted in Khagrachari Sadar Hospital on Tuesday early in the morning. Her condition was very critical. Dighinala Upazila BCL general secretary Mostafa Kamal Mintu said under the leadership of Shariar Sohel Mia Matyagibi League activist Amir Hossain, Sohag Mia and Saiful Islam were involved to this incident.
Meanwhile Shariar Sohel Mia was expelled from BCL. A letter was sent to Matygibi leader requesting him for expelling the 3 other alleged members who were involved to that heinous and barbarous deed. Police arrested Shariar Sohel Mia and trying to arrest the other three. Shahat Hossain, OC of Dighinala police station said to parbattanews correspondent that the victim was sent to Khagrachari Sadar Hospital for clinical examination. A case is preparing to lodge against the criminals in this connection.
District BCL president Iqbal Bahar and general secretary Maunsapru Marma with other leaders in a statement condemned this heinous act claiming to punish them and demanded to arrest the others immediately and expelled the Shahriar Sohel Mia permanently from BCL. Besides, a 3-member medical board led by Dr Abdus Samad constituted, Khagrachari Sadar Hospital resident medical officer Dr Sanjib Tripura told parbattanews correspondent.
