Santu alleged government killing time in implementing Peace accord for derailing Jum movement

Chittagong Hill Tracts Regional Council chairman and Janasangati Samiti JSS president Jotirindra Bodhypriya Larma alias Santu Larma alleged, government is passing time in implementing peace accord for subduing movement of Jum nation in hill districts. Non-cooperation movement from May 1 will be continued if the treaty not implemented by April.
Santu Larma said this at Pahari Chattra Parishad’s 16th representative and council conference held at Faruquepara in Bandarban township on Friday.
Santu Larma said, government tells most of the articles of the treaty implemented by this time but in fact basic points are not yet implemented. In the name of implementing the treaty, government takes tactics of quelling the movement. But it is sure and certain that there is no way to continue movement for saving the existence of the Jum people residing in hill districts, he added. He urged the hill students to unite for movement surpassing all differences. He added if by April 30 the treaty not implemented fully, they shall go on non-cooperation movement for compelling government to materialize the treaty fully.
Pahari Chattra Parishad Bandarban district president Mastu Marma was presided the conference while central organizing secretary Shaktipada Tripura, Joint secretary KS Maung Marma, district JSS president and regional Council member Saduram Tripura Milton, roangchari Upazilla chairman and general secretary Kaba Maung Marma, Loyel David Bomb, Ruma upazilla chairman Aung Khoaiy marma, Pahari Chattra Parishad central president Jotymoy Chakma, Hill women Federation president Waichaung Prue delivered speech to the conference.
Santu Larma said, army rule has been continuing from Pakistan rule to incumbent governments rule. After liberation of Bangladesh the rule is continuing in name of ‘overcoming operation’. He alleged both Awamy League and BNP leaders and activists collectively conducted the attack upon my motorcade in Bandarban tour where 10 JSS activists wounded on Wednesday. He condemned this heinous attack. On Wednesday, he entered the conference escorted by army, BGB and police members.
However the conference elected Ubaching Murma as president, Azit Tanchanga secretary and Ukhillah Murma organizing secretary for Bandarban District Pahari Chattara Parishad. Here mentioned that JAGO PARBATTABASI, a organization of all-parties called 72-hours HARTAL (shut down) program in protest of Santu Larma’s visit to Bandarban.
On Wednesday, a clash between activists of Jago Parbattabasi and JSS occurred leaving at least 20 persons wounded. Jago Parbattabasi is engaged to propagating that the hill organizations are contusing raising illegal levy, carrying abduction, killing and insurgencies in hill districts.
