Tribal militants attacked over troops, leaving wounded 15 in Dighinala

Troops and hill tribal people clashed today in Khagrachari’s Dighinala leaving 15 wounded including 10 BD Armymen. Earlier, the tribal people brought out a militant procession demanding transfer of the 51 BGB Battalion from Dighinala, withdrawal false cases lodged against the indigenous people and resettling 21 hill family in Reserve forest region and instantly they came before the patrol troops and fell into clashes.
United Peoples Democratic Front UPDF supported tribal people paraded towards BGB quarters. At a stage the troops stopped them and they began to attack them ny pelting bricks and locally made fire-arms to them. The wounded persons are admitted into the hospital.
Later the tribal people demonstrated at the Dighinala-Babuchara road. Regional Commander of Bangladesh Army at Khagrachari Brig General SM Mahbubul Alam PSC told the parbattanews correspondent that the tribal people all on a sudden began to pelt bricks and GULTI(locally made weapon) over the troops that triggered the clash.
Locals said land protection committee under UPDF is always engaged demanding transfer the BGB headquarters from Dighinala from many days together and on Sunday morning they nearly 200 people in number gathered morning and at noon began to move towards the headquarters. On the other hand from the other road several armed indigenous people paraded forward and police chased them. Dighinala police station’s OC Shahadat Hossain Titu ascertained the incident telling they found 10 troops wounded including6 fatally wounded on heads. Police fired tear shell over the demonstrators for disperse.
