The Election Commission has postponed the Upazila Parishad election in Bagaichhari, Rangamati, due to concerns over deteriorating law and order and adverse weather conditions.

Mohammad Monir Hossain, the Senior Election Officer of Rangamati, confirmed the postponement on Saturday. Hossain stated that adverse weather conditions had prevented the delivery of election materials to helipad centers. The decision was also influenced by concerns about the overall law and order situation.

In response to threats against the agents of the chairman and female vice-chairman candidates, the UPDF Prasit Group enforced a dawn-to-dusk blockade in Bagaichhari on Saturday, demanding a fair election.
