BGB intercepts boat carrying 65 Rohingya near Teknaf

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have thwarted an attempt by a boat laden with 65 Rohingya to enter Bangladesh from Myanmar. 

The interception occurred near the zero line of the Naf River in Damdamia, Hnila Union, Teknaf Upazila, Cox’s Bazar, around 2 PM on Tuesday.

Lieutenant Colonel Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed, commander of Teknaf 2-BGB, confirmed the incident, stating that the wooden boat carrying 65 Rohingya, all men, was pushed back to Myanmar. 

He emphasized that no new Rohingya would be allowed entry into Bangladesh, with BGB forces on high alert along the border to prevent any further attempts at crossing into the country.
