Chhatra Dal names DUCSU panel, featuring Chakma and visually impaired candidates

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has announced its panel for the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union election, nominating a Chakma student and a visually impaired student among its candidates.

Chim Chimya Chakma will contest the post of sports secretary, while Ibn Ahmed, a student of Peace and Conflict Studies who has long campaigned for disability rights, was nominated as a member.

Chhatra Dal president Rakibul Islam Rakib said the panel consisted of “relatively junior, regular students who are known and acceptable to the wider student community.”

For senior posts, Md Abidul Islam Khan was nominated as vice president, Sheikh Tanvir Bari Hamim as general secretary, and Tanvir Al Hadi Maied as assistant general secretary.
