Five Bangladeshis wounded by gunfire from Myanmar

In Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya, specifically in the areas of Palongkhali and Thaingkhali, four Bangladeshis have been injured due to gunfire originating from Myanmar.
These incidents occurred from the morning until 8 PM on Tuesday, February 6th.
The injured have been identified as Ayubul Islam from the Nolbonia area of Palongkhali Union, Anwar Hossain from Rahmaterbil, Mubarak Hossain and Md. Kala from Putibonia.
Gofur Uddin Chowdhury, the Chairman of Palongkhali Union Parishad, confirmed these incidents, noting that all four are currently receiving medical treatment.
Additionally, another Bangladeshi youth was injured in Bandarban’s Naikhongchhari due to a mortar shell fired from Myanmar on the same day, in the afternoon, at the Paschimkul Paharpara area of Ghumdhum Union.
As the conflict within Myanmar intensifies, a total of 268 members from the BGB and other forces have sought refuge in Bangladesh, fleeing attacks by the rebel group Arakan Army.
Mohammad Shahin Imran, the deputy commissioner of Cox’s Bazar, reported an escalation in Myanmar’s internal conflict, with bullets and mortar shells landing in Bangladesh across the border. Instructions have been issued to relocate residents from vulnerable border areas to safety. Initially, people from the Ghumdhum and Tumbru border areas have been advised to move to secure locations.
Earlier on Monday, a woman from Bangladesh and a Rohingya were killed in the Jalpaitoli village of Naikhongchhari’s Ghumdhum Union, Bandarban, by a mortar shell fired from Myanmar.
