Government hopes to begin Rohingya repatriation soon: Cox’s Bazar DC

Cox’s Bazar Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Salauddin has said the government is making every effort to ensure the safe repatriation of Rohingya refugees.
He told reporters that the government is hopeful the repatriation process will begin soon.
According to Salauddin, the three-day international conference in Cox’s Bazar has been organised to accelerate repatriation efforts.
He added that all necessary preparations for the event have been completed.
Government determination
Senior government officials and analysts said the authorities are determined to begin repatriation “at any cost.”
They noted that Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has been making strong efforts to increase his acceptability among the public.
Officials said Dr Yunus is giving Rohingya repatriation the same priority as the upcoming national election. They added that the Cox’s Bazar conference was organised for this purpose.
