Khagrachari man leaves govt job, now earns Tk 30 lakh a year from mango farming

Mangsitu Chowdhury, in his late thirties and from Khagrachari, earns nearly Tk 30 lakh a year from mango farming after quitting his government job and returning to his village.
He worked in Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) for 16 years, starting as a sepoy and later becoming a medical assistant. His last posting was in Rangpur.
In 2022, he left the job voluntarily to follow his dream of becoming an entrepreneur. He returned to his village in Headman Para, Kamalchari Union, under Khagrachari Sadar.
With his father, Thuila Aung Chowdhury, he started a mango orchard on 35 acres of land. His goal was to improve his own finances while also doing something for his family and community.
Today, his mango business has turned into a successful venture, showing how farming can be a promising path for young entrepreneurs.
