Listed criminal arrested with illegal firearm in army-led operation

The Bangladesh Army has arrested a listed criminal and suspected drug trafficker during a joint operation in the Tetultala area under Kalabagan Police Station, according to a statement posted on the army’s official Facebook page on Monday (14 July).

The operation, conducted around 1:00am based on specific intelligence, led to the arrest of Yamin Siddiqui Nishat. One 9mm pistol, one magazine, and two rounds of ammunition were recovered during the raid.

Authorities said the suspect has multiple criminal cases filed against him for alleged involvement in various unlawful activities.

The Bangladesh Army reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety and urged citizens to report any criminal activity to the nearest army camp or law enforcement agency.
