Lt Gen Mir Mushfiqur takes over as new PSO of Armed Forces Division

Lieutenant General Mir Mushfiqur Rahman has assumed charge as the Principal Staff Officer (PSO) of the Armed Forces Division, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press release.
According to the release, he formally took over the responsibility on Monday.
The ISPR said Prime Minister Tarique Rahman conferred the rank badge of lieutenant general on the newly appointed PSO at the Armed Forces Division on the same day.
Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan attended the ceremony.
Mir Mushfiqur received his commission in the Bangladesh Army’s infantry corps on June 21, 1991, the release said.
He has served in a number of key appointments, including as general officer commanding (GOC) of the 24 Infantry Division, military secretary at Army Headquarters, and director general of the Directorate General of Defence Purchase, among others, it added.
