Osman Hadi laid to rest beside National Poet

Sharif Osman Hadi, the convener of Inqilab Moncho, has been buried in Dhaka after a funeral attended by a huge crowd.
Hundreds of thousands of people joined his janaza at the South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Saturday, before he was laid to rest at 3:50pm beside the grave of Bangladesh’s National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
The funeral prayer was led by Hadi’s elder brother, Abu Bakar Siddique.
Mourners began arriving at the South Plaza from the morning, with many entering through security archway gates. The ambulance carrying his body reached the venue at around 2:00pm.
Professor Muhammad Yunus, the chief adviser of the interim government, attended the janaza. Several senior political leaders were also present, including Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Shafiqur Rahman and secretary general Mia Md Golam Parwar, BNP standing committee member Salahuddin Ahmed, and NCP convener Nahid Islam.
Before the prayers, Inqilab Moncho member secretary Zaber and Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hosen addressed the gathering.
Large crowds also filled Manik Mia Avenue, the two southern grounds of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban and nearby streets.
