Shefalika Tripura made acting head of Khagrachari council

Shefalika Tripura has been appointed acting chairman of the Khagrachari Hill District Council.
The Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs made the appointment under the 1989 council law. A circular issued on Sunday said she will serve until further notice.
The move follows an order asking current chairman Jiruna Tripura to step aside over allegations of misconduct and corruption.
The directive was signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Taslima Begum.
