Commerce adviser says market syndicates eliminated, vows to curb corruption before polls

Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin has said market syndicates have been dismantled and pledged to eliminate corruption before the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election.
Speaking to reporters at the Secretariat on Thursday (7 August) afternoon, he said the government had “been able to remove syndicates in market management” and would now focus on eradicating corruption ahead of the polls.
He added that steps would be taken to create employment opportunities before the election and to move past the interim phase of addressing the energy crisis.
The adviser also highlighted what he described as significant achievements over the past year, including an increase in foreign exchange reserves.
