Court sends 10 KNF members to jail after remand

A Bandarban court has sent 10 members of Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) to jail.

They were sent to jail as they were placed before the local chief judicial magistrate’s court after a two-day remand ended on Saturday.

The KNF members are Bhanlal Kim Bom (30), Sairaj Bom (25), Rual Komlian Bom (55), Gilbert Bom (19), Tiam Bom (44), Lian Noai Thang Bom (20), Nol Thon Bom (55), Penal Bom (65), Lal Mun Lian Bom (28), and Jasoya Bom (45), all residents of Bethel Para in Ruma.

According to court sources, joint forces arrested 78 individuals, including 22 women, in connection with bank robberies and arms looting incidents at Sonali and Krishi Bank in the upazilas of Ruma and Thanchi.

The court’s General Recording Officer (GRO), Vishwajit Singh, confirmed the matter, stating that after the two-day remand, the court ordered that 10 KNF members be sent to prison.
