Four ARSA terrorists arrested following gunfight with RAB in Rohingya camp

An intense exchange of gunfire between the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and members of the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) terrorist group occurred during an anti-sabotage operation in the Rohingya camp in Ukhia, Cox’s Bazar.
On Monday, 18 December, from 9 PM to 12:30 AM, RAB personnel conducted a high-stakes operation at the Jamtoli Rohingya Camp-15. The operation, which spanned nearly three and a half hours, culminated in the arrest of four ARSA terrorists.
According to sources, ARSA members were convening for a clandestine meeting at the Jamtoli camp that night. RAB’s elite team, upon nearing Camp 15’s secret hideout, was detected by ARSA terrorists who initiated gunfire. RAB members returned fire in self-defense. Despite some terrorists managing to flee, four ARSA members were successfully apprehended.
During the raid, authorities recovered 5 domestic and foreign firearms, various items resembling cocktails, and equipment typically used for terrorist activities.
Colonel H.M. Sajjad Hossain, Commander of RAB-15, said that ARSA members were planning acts of sabotage both inside and outside the camp. The full extent of the arrested terrorists’ plans is expected to be uncovered following interrogation.
The wider Rohingya community has reportedly expressed relief and support for RAB’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism within the camp.
To date this year, RAB has successfully apprehended over 60 high-ranking ARSA terrorists.
