Two UPDF terrorists killed in PCJSS attack in Rangamati

Two terrorists from the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF), led by Prasit Khisa, were killed in an attack by the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS), led by Santu Larma, in Longadu upazila of Rangamati.

The incident occurred on Saturday morning in the Valeedi Haat area of Baro Harikaba in Longadu.

The deceased were identified as Vidyadhan Tilak Chakma, 45, and Dhanyamani Chakma, 35. Vidyadhan was the son of Samay Mani Chakma from Kukichara, Longadu, and Dhanyamani was the son of Lengya Chakma from Dhudhukchara, Baro Harikaba.

Additional Superintendent of Police in Rangamati, Maruf Ahmed, confirmed the incident and said a police team had been dispatched to retrieve the bodies.

Sajal Chakma, the organizer of the UPDF’s Rangamati district unit, confirmed the deaths.

He said that at around 8:30 a.m., seven armed terrorists from the Santu group attacked UPDF members near Valeedi Ghat. Vidyadhan, also known as Tilak, and Dhanyamani were killed on the spot.

In a statement, UPDF claimed that the attack was led by Poa Chakma, also known as Apon, 32, the son of Laxmi Mani Chakma from Kuttchari village near Baro Harikaba. Poa Chakma is an active member of the PCJSS.

Sajal Chakma demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible for the killings and called for the arrest and removal of Santu Larma from the Regional Council.
