Brojen Tripura held with gun, ammo in Matiranga

A 45-year-old man was arrested with a homemade firearm and ammunition during a police raid in Matiranga upazila of Khagrachhari on Sunday afternoon.

The arrestee, Brojen Tripura, is a resident of Yaminichhara area, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police conducted the raid in Ayodhya Para of Belchari Union around 5:30 pm and arrested Brojen with the LG (locally made gun) and three rounds of ammunition, said Matiranga Police Station sources.

Police also recovered two Android mobile phones and two receipt books, allegedly used for collecting extortion money, from his possession.

A case has been filed against Brojen under the Arms Act.
