DUCSU: Polling officer removed after handing two ballots to voter
PARBATTA NEWS DESK
A polling officer has been relieved of duty after he “unintentionally” issued two ballot papers to a voter during the ongoing Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election.
The incident occurred at the Amar Ekushey Hall polling centre, located on the second floor of Curzon Hall, the university’s Public Relations Office said in a statement.
Polling officer Ziaur Rahman was immediately withdrawn from duty once the matter came to light, according to the release.
The university said the voter acknowledged the incident was a mistake and not a deliberate act. Officials added that the matter was resolved instantly after it was reported.
