The Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) claimed Wednesday that four members of the Jumma National Army (JLA) were killed in a gunfight between the two groups in Rangamati’s Meetingachhari.
In a Facebook post, KNF said the clash took place at 5 am and was confirmed by its intelligence unit, IIB.
According to the post, JLA ambushed KNF, but its “head-hunter” team counterattacked, killing three JLA members and injuring several others. KNF claimed none of its members were hurt.
The post alleged that leaders of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) used government funds to buy weapons, which it said were being used for disappearances and killings in the region.
JLA has not confirmed the claims.
