A poor Chakma family has received a new house constructed with the support of the Mahalchhari Army Zone in the Khagrachari Region, as part of the human development program in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

On Thursday, Nitimoy Chakma (Tatru), a resident of Dhumunighat New Para in Mahalchhari, was handed over a newly built tin-shed house.

Nitimoy Chakma’s family expressed their gratitude and joy upon receiving the new home.

Nitimoy said that previously, rainwater would leak into their house, making it difficult to live.

“Now, we no longer have to endure that hardship,” he said, extending thanks to the Mahalchhari Zone and the army for their support.

The commander of the Mahalchhari Zone stated that the efforts to improve the living standards of the people in the Chittagong Hill Tracts would continue through initiatives like building homes, providing education and medical services, and ensuring access to clean drinking water. They emphasized that these efforts aim to promote peace, harmony, and development in the region.
