Newly appointed minister Kujendra vows to implement CHT Peace Accord

Newly appointed State Minister for Chattogram Hill Tracts, Kujendra Lal Tripura has pledged to play a robust role in implementing the Chittagong Hill Tracts or CHT Peace Accord.
He made the pledge aimed at a region that has long been seeking peace and stability, while talking to the media after an oath-taking ceremony held at Bangabhabnan on Thursday evening.
The oath-taking ceremony started at at 7 PM, with President Md Sahabuddin administering the oath to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, followed by other full ministers and state ministers.
Since the establishment of the Ministry of Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs in 1998, this is a momentous return of the ministry’s responsibility to a representative from Khagrachari, sparking widespread joy among the locals.
The ministry has previously been led by Kalparanjan Chakma from Khagrachari, Dipankar Talukdar from Rangamati, and Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing from Bandarban.
Tripura’s victory in the 12th National Parliamentary Elections from the Awami League in the 298 Khagrachari constituency marks his third consecutive win, following successes in 2014 and 2018.
Prior to his parliamentary journey, he served as the chairman of the Khagrachari District Council, showcasing a longstanding commitment to his region.
