Retired army member killed in road accident in Bandarban

A retired army member, Rezaul Karim, 43, was killed in a road accident on Tuesday morning after a bus hit his motorcycle in the Meghla Talukdarpara area on the Bandarban–Keranihat road.
Karim, a resident of Shekherkhilla in Pekua upazila of Cox’s Bazar and the son of the late Badiul Alam, was travelling towards Keranihat by motorcycle when the incident occurred.
According to police and eyewitnesses, a speeding bus struck the motorcycle from behind, causing Karim to fall and sustain critical injuries. He was rescued by locals and taken to Bandarban Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty physician declared him dead.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Bandarban Sadar Police Station Parvez Sarwar said the bus involved in the accident has been seized, and legal proceedings are underway.
