Two sent to jail, including chief coordinator of KNF Women’s Wing in Bandarban

The Bandarban Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court has sent Akim Bawm, a chief coordinator of the women’s wing of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF), and member Lal Siyam Lom Bawm to jail.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Md Nurul Haque issued the order on Saturday, a day after their arrest by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in the hill district, Court Police General Registration Officer Bishwajit Singh said.
Akim Bawm, 18, is the daughter of Siam Thong Bawm from Paikshyang Para, and Lal Siyam Lom Bawm, 60, is from Faruk Para.
RAB, acting on a tip-off, conducted operations in the Laimi Para and Faruk Para areas and arrested them on Friday.
Including Akim Bawm and Lal Siyam Lom Bawm, a total of 87 individuals, including 25 women, have been sent to jail in connection with nine cases of bank robbery, weapon looting, and kidnapping in Ruma and Thanchi.
