UPDF terrorist held with arms in Khagrachari

A terrorist belonging to the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF-Original) has been apprehended by Mahalchari zone in the Mahalchari upazila of Khagrachari district.

Dhanmani Chakma, also known as Natun Chakma and aged 30, is the son of the late Mohni Mahan Chakma from the Dhantakupia area of Mahalchhari upazila.

The arrest took place on Tuesday, May 2nd, around noon, when an army patrol team caught Chakma collecting extortion in the Pankhimura area of Sindukchari, also under Mahalchari zone.

Upon searching him, an LG, an extortion receipt, two rounds of ammunition, a mobile phone, and cash were found.

Abul Hasan Khan, the officer-in-charge of Mahalchari police station, stated that a case will be filed against Chakma for extortion and for possession of illegal arms. The accused will then be sent to jail.
