Leaders from multiple parties, faith groups join Chormonai Pir’s rally in Dhaka

Leaders from Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP, Gono Odhikar Parishad, AB Party, and minority faith communities joined a mass rally organised by Islami Andolon Bangladesh (IAB) on Friday at Suhrawardy Udyan.
The rally, led by IAB Ameer Chormonai Pir Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim, called for electoral reform, proportional representation, judicial fairness, and a level playing field. Organisers said the BNP was not invited due to its stance against proportional voting.
Leaders from Jamaat, including Central Nayeb-e-Ameer Prof Mujibur Rahman, Secretary General Prof Mia Golam Parwar, and Assistant Secretary General Maulana Rafiqul Islam Khan, were present at the event.
Among other political figures in attendance were AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Manju, Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haque Nur, and NCP Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain.
NCP Chief Organiser (North) Sarjis Alam also joined the programme, alongside representatives from several Islamist parties.
These included Nizam-e-Islam Party Secretary General Maulana Musa Bin Izhar, Khilafat Majlis Secretary General Ahmad Abdul Kader, Islami Oikya Jote Secretary General Maulana Shakawat Hossain Raji, Bangladesh Khilafat Secretary General Jalal Uddin, and Khilafat Andolon Secretary General Yusuf Sadiq Haqqani.
Leaders from religious minority communities were also present.
They included Gobinda Chandra Pramanik, Secretary General of the Bangladesh National Hindu Grand Alliance; Dayal Kumar Barua, President of Bodhigyan Bhaban Kendra; and Nirmal Rozario, President of the Bangladesh Christian Association.
