Sarba Mitra Chakma elected DUCSU executive member

Sarba Mitra Chakma of the Islami Chhatra Shibir-backed United Student Alliance has been elected an executive member of the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU), securing 8,998 votes.

He received the second-highest number of votes among member candidates, after Sabikun Nahar Tamanna, who won with 10,084.

Out of 13 member posts, 11 went to the Shibir-backed panel, while the other two were won by Hema Chakma of the Resistance Council and independent candidate Umma Uswatun Rafia.

Chief Election Commissioner Professor Mohammad Jasim Uddin announced the results at the Senate Bhaban.
