DUCSU polls: Independent VP candidate Umama raises concern over code violations

Umama Fatema, a vice president candidate from an independent panel in the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections, has voiced concern about breaches of the election code of conduct.
“We are concerned whether there is level playing field in the elections. There are many incidents of code violation at the polling centres, candidates are entering centres and distributing leaflets violating codes,” she said on Tuesday.
Umama added that her panel welcomed the awareness shown by students about their rights during the vote.
Earlier in the day, the former spokesperson of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement cast her ballot on the ground floor of the Geology Department.
