Joint security forces capture UPDF terrorist in Rangamati

A joint operation by security forces led to the apprehension of Monis Chakma, a 40-year-old alleged terrorist associated with the United People’s Democratic Front (UPF) in Naniarchar Upazila of Rangamati.
Confirming the incident on Sunday afternoon, Nainiarchar Police Station OC Sujon Haldar said that the operation was carried out on Saturday night in the Didichan Para area of Naniarchar Sadar Union, resulting in the arrest of an armed individual believed to be a section commander of the UPDF (Original).
The operation was launched based on actionable intelligence, with armed militants taking refuge in a house upon sensing the presence of security forces. A thorough search of the premises by the joint forces yielded a 315-bore rifle, 1 magazine, 6 rounds of ammunition, and 1 walkie-talkie.
Later, the arrested suspect, along with the recovered weapons, was handed over to Naniarchar Police Station. A case has been registered against the detainee for the illegal possession of firearms.
