The accused include Sumaiya Shahina (25), president of Samajtantrik Chhatra Front’s Eden Women’s College unit; Adrita Roy (23) of Jagannath University Chhatra Union; Arman (30) of Chhatra Federation; Meghmallar Basu (28), president of Bangladesh Chhatra Union’s Dhaka University unit; Al Amin Rahman (25), president of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation’s Dhaka Metropolitan unit; Richard (26), a leftist student leader; Hasan Shikdar (25) of Chhatra Federation; Seema Akter (25) of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation’s Dhaka University unit; Soukat Arif (26), general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation; Main Ahmed (24), general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra Union’s DU unit and central office secretary; and Fahim Ahmed Chowdhury (25), general secretary of Democratic Student Council.
According to the case statement, police set up barricades at the Hotel InterContinental intersection to prevent disruptions to security near the Chief Adviser’s residence and ensure smooth traffic flow. Protesters allegedly ignored police requests, attempted to breach the barricades with sticks, and attacked officers. They also reportedly hurled bricks, injuring several policemen, including Ramna Zone Assistant Commissioner Abdullah Al Mamun, and constables Raihan, Kawsar, Md Rohan, Md Saiful Islam, and female officers Adiba and Rubina from Rajarbagh Police Lines. Police later dispersed the protesters and brought the situation under control.
