New minister Kujendra pledges harmony in CHT on first state visit

Kujendra Lal Tripura, the newly appointed Minister of State for Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, has affirmed his commitment to ensuring peaceful coexistence and equitable distribution in the hills.
“Together, we will secure a harmonious and fair environment in the hills,” he said during his first official visit to Khagrachhari on Tuesday.
The new state minister added that he would work to empower the hill district councils and to bring the benefits of the peace accord to the local people.
He underscored the revival of democracy and sustained development in Bangladesh under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s leadership.
“Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, democracy has been re-established in a new form, ensuring the continuity of Bangladesh’s development,” Mr Kujendra said.
Earlier, thousands of people and party workers lined the roads to extend floral greetings, as he passed through the district’s eight upazilas.
