Terrorists fire at Sajek-bound tourist vehicles in Rangamati

Terrorists fired shots at and vandalised Sajek-bound tourist vehicles in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati. Sajek is one of the most popular tourist spots in Bangladesh.
The incident took place on Monday (December 18) morning in Shuknachari area of Dighinala-Sajek road.
According to local sources, the four-day hartal called by UPDF was being observed in Khagrachari on Monday morning-evening. During the hartal, the terrorists fired at the tourist vehicles that were headed for Sajek through Khagrachari. No one was injured in this incident. During the picketing, the terrorists vandalised a tourist-carrying Mahendra, a pickup and a private car.
It is said that the damaged vehicles carrying tourists will be recovered and repaired by the army and will reach their specified address.
Rangamati Additional Superintendent of Police Maruf Ahmed confirmed the incident and said that security forces have surrounded the entire area. The situation is currently normal.
