In Bandarban’s Thanchi upazila, unknown terrorists targeted a truck carrying bricks on the border road.
The incident occurred around 3:30pm on Wednesday (24 April) along an eight-kilometer stretch.
A worker reported that during the construction of the Thanchi-Baklai border road, five armed terrorists, concealing their identities with red cloths, unexpectedly attacked and fired at one of the four trucks, hitting its rear. The drivers and their assistants fled to Thanchi upazila town and informed the security forces.
Speaking anonymously, a worker stated, “After unloading bricks, terrorists ambushed from the jungle and fired seven shots at the truck.”
Md. Jasim Uddin, the officer in charge of Thanchi Police Station, said, “We have received reports of terrorists firing at trucks involved in border road construction. We are investigating and will take legal action if necessary.”
