UPDF supporter killed by rival gunfire in Khagrachhari

Barun Bikash Chakma, a supporter of the UPDF Prasit Group, was shot and killed by rival gunmen in the Logang’s Hatimara area of Panchhari, Khagrachhari, on Saturday night.

Angya Marma, the Khagrachhari district organizer for the UPDF Prasit Group, said that around 9pm, 3-4 armed assailants broke into Chakma’s home and shot him. Marma claimed the deceased was a supporter of their group and accused the rival UPDF Democratic faction of the killing.

Panchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Shafiul Azam confirmed the shooting but could not provide further details, noting the incident occurred in a very remote area.
