Fake currency factory busted in Cox’s Bazar; four held

Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have busted a fake currency making factory in Kutubdia upazila of Cox’s Bazar.

Lt Col SM Yousuf, commanding officer of Rab-7, confirmed the development on Sunday.

During the drive, the elite force members arrested four people and seized huge amounts of fake currency, computer, printer and other equipment for manufacturing fake notes, said the RAB official.

The four arrestees are Saif Uddin Ahmad (25), his two brothers Mezbah Uddin Ahmad (32) and Zia Uddin Ahmad (21), and Saiful Islam. They are from Manoharkhali village under Baraghop Union in Kutubdia upazila.

Acting on a tip-off, a RAB team conducted a drive at M/s Rabeya Enterprise and Digital Studio at Baraghop around 2:30 pm and arrested the four making fake money, added the Rab CO
