Rohingya volunteer shot dead in Cox’s Bazar

A youth was shot dead in a Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya upazila this morning (March 15).
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rashid, a volunteer at Balukhali Camp 8.
Syed Harunur Rashid, commanding officer of Armed Police Battalion- 14, said a gang opened fire at Abdur Rashid around 8:00am, leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to a hospital inside the camp where doctors declared him dead, he said.
The body was sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station.
