Two Rohingyas arrested with yaba in Bandarban

BANDARBAN, NAIKHONGCHHARI, GHUMDHUM, AND BAISHARI CORRESPONDENTS

Police have arrested two Rohingyas with 2,000 yaba tablets in a raid in Naikhongchhari, Bandarban.

The arrests were made at 11:30 AM on Friday at the entrance of Yahia Garden in Ghumdhum Union, police said.

The detainees were identified as Siraj Uddin (20), son of Yasin from block B-22 of Rohingya camp 8 in Ukhiya, and Zahed Hossain (45), son of Mostak Ahmed from block B-52 of the same camp.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by SI Pavel Mallik conducted the operation. During the raid, they searched the entrance of Yahia Garden in Ghumdhum and found the yaba tablets hidden on the two Rohingyas.

Naikhongchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Abdul Mannan said a case is being processed against the detainees under the relevant laws. He added that police will continue their ongoing operations.
