Man held with 2.5 lakh yabas in Ghumdhum
The Rapid Action Battalion or RAB has arrested a 49-year-old man in possession of 250,000 pieces of yaba tablets in Bandarban’s Naikhongchari upazila, the elite force has said.
The arrestee was identified as Abdul Malek, son of Abdus Salam and Halima Khatun, hailing from Ghumdhum Paschimpara under the upazila’s Ghumdhum Union.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-15 conducted the raid and arrested him along with the mentioned amount of yaba tablets from his home, they said.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested Malek confessed to storing the yabas in order to sell them, the RAB said.
