Rohingya youth arrested for killing Chattogram farmer

Police on Monday arrested a Rohingya youth on charge of killing a farmer at Lohagara upazila in Chattogram on February 16.

The arrested was identified as Mohammad Amin, 25, son of Azizur Rahman, of Rohingya camp no.4 at Ukhiya upazila in Cox’s Bazar, said police.

Mohammad Amin was arrested in Kutupalong area in Ukhiya upazila on early Monday, Lohagara police station’s officer-in-charge Md Atiqur Rahman said.

Two Rohingya youths, including Mohammad Amin, allegedly hacked farmer Ahmed Kabir to death over an altercation with them following wages for working at Ahmed Kabir’s crop land and snatching Tk 50,000 from the victim, according to the OC.

‘We are trying to arrest the other accused,’ the OC said.
